- We are hosting Hector Montenegro to present on Culturally Responsive Communication and Engagement Strategies. The goals for this session is to increase the ability for every school/district member to interact with others in ways that validate and build on their cultural background, as well as, increase self-awareness (i.e. implicit bias) and social awareness (i.e. cultures, values, identities) and grow participant’s capacity to establish safe, supportive and positive relationships with all students and their families in a culturally responsive way.

The SCDN Framework Arts Fall Conference will build the capacity of staff developers and administrators to understand and interpret the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts (Dance, Music, Theater, Visual and Media Arts) and connection of the Art Standards to other parts of the curriculum. During this conference we will explore the: art standards, setting up arts professional learning, and connections to content. Additionally, we will create PD materials to share and guide PD back in the BOCES regions.

Online - Self Paced **This online experience is for members of the SCDN Professional Frameworks who could not attend the Fall Conference in person. The SCDN Framework Arts Spring Conference will explore learning and assessment issues raised by the implementation of the improved NYS Arts Standards. During this event we will explore current research on arts education and arts focused professional development. As well, will actively develop professional learning materials and guides to support the delivery of professional development on assessment and the NYS Arts Standards.
